The project began with a visit to the Tate Library, which included an introduction to a variety of artists' books by Head Librarian Meg Duff. Students were also required to research the form and content of artists books beyond the Tate's collection, including some that Suky herself has produced, prior to developing a personally resonant work relating to the chosen theme.

The students used sketchbooks, mixed media (of each students' choice) and a variety of digital technology including scanners, iMac computers and Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Freehand software programmes. The finished work resulted in a spiral-bound, physical book, composed of computer generated pages with mixed media.
