Karen Eslea works as both an artist and, from April 2001, as Education and Community Outreach Officer for the Turner Centre, scheduled to open in Margate in 2004. Her art practice includes Portraits (1997), a commission from the Public Art Development Trust to make site-specific work for Terminal 1 at Heathrow Airport and Untitled- Terminals (1998), a series of staff portraits in lightboxes for the exhibition Speed at the MacDonald Stewart Art Centre, Guelph, Canada. This work makes clear her interest in working with people and their representation within the visual arts. Eslea also worked as Education Officer at Chisenhale Gallery, in East London for two years from 1998.
Karen Eslea (b. 1971) graduated with a BA in Photography from Nottingham Polytechnic. She lives and works in Kent.
